“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” Jim RohnDoes your team have tools for overcoming stress and anxiety? Do they feel valued and supported by your organization? In this testimonial, Mark Lancaster, CEO & Founder of EG Workforce Solutions talks about his experience and success with SattvaMe Wellness Program.
Training vs. Education
What is the difference between CEOs who are able to successfully implement mental wellness programs and reap the rewards of a happier, more productive team and those who aren’t?
One big difference is if they are encouraging their employees to “memorize for the test” instead of properly educating them in a way they can integrate what they learn into their lives.
Think about when you were in school. You had two choices…
You could cram information right before the test, so it was fresh in your mind and you were able to scribble down the answers fast enough to pass…
Or, you could spend weeks doing the assignments, reviewing the information regularly, and truly understanding the wisdom behind it so that you could use it on the test and still pass the final exam months later.
CEOs that provide a single wellness training in hopes of seeing their employees improve immediately are essentially encouraging them to “cram for the test.”
They’ll see short-term progress, but the overall goals they’re seeking will not be met because mental health improvement is not an event.
It’s an ongoing process.
With our programs will you see improvement soon after the sessions? Yes. But if you want to sustain it, you need to keep up with it.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! There has never been a better (or more important time) to initiate mental wellness programs in the workplace.
